Mr. Hefner holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Geology with an emphasis in environmental-engineering geology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Mr. Hefner is a licensed professional geologist (P.G.) in Texas and Wisconsin, registered environmental manager (R.E.M.), and a Texas LPST Project Manager. His experience is quite extensive spanning a career over 33 years in the environmental and construction industry with more than half of his experience with the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) as an expert in Geology/Hydrogeology in the Technical Directorate and Project Manager in the Execution Division’s environmental and construction group. Mr. Hefner is an adjunct Professor of Geology at the University of Texas at San Antonio where he teaches environmental and physical geology and mentors young geologists.
Mr. Hefner also performs community service by participating as a coach in the YMCA, science fair judge at local schools, speaker on career days at schools, Basura Bash (Cleaning of the San Antonio River), and the local Home Owners Association activities.
